For revisions, I'm tracking chapters and pages revised. So I've got two new counters. Just look to the right.
Now for Friday tidbits...
Hey Mel! How come you didn't tell me about author Julie Cohen's workshop last month, "Tightening The First Page", over on eHarlequin? I've had zero time for the eHq boards since the end of July. Focused on this wip. But one thing I like about the eHq boards are the great workshops. Lots of free writing advice from published authors.
I hopped over last week when I had a moment, and wound up staying for an hour so I could copy and paste all the posts from Julie's workshop. Don't let the workshop title fool you. It was all about tightening one's writing on every page of the story. She offered great tips and examples from her own writing (first draft vs. final draft examples). Picked up some things to think about during this revision. If anyone is interested, you can find it here. The posts are usually available for a while before they're archived.
For those of you struggling along with me through a revision, author Candace Havens has just begun a new Revision Hell workshop. This is one of several online workshops that she offers several times a year via Yahoogroups! You can sign up for her lessons only or, if you want some camraderie and fellow revisionists, join the associated chat loop too.
AuthorNation is a new social networking tool geared towards writers. Wendy Coakley-Thompson describes it as "Myspace for writers". I don't know much about it beyond that. I took a cursory look but I really don't have time for all these additional networking opportunities. Maybe after I actually sell something, I won't be able to afford not to consider them.
For those considering ebook publication, I recently learned of another ebook publishers, Uncial Press. Check it out.
This weekend I plan to continue revising, in between sleeping, that is. I'm tired! Too much running around and not enough shuteye. I haven't mentioned my diet of late but I'm holding my own. Scale not moving (could have something to do with those snacks I'm having a hard time resisting) but inches continue to fall off as I exercise, climb stairs, and carefully consider most of what I eat.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Peace & Blessings,
